Champs City conclude its U13 Academy talent hunt

Champs City are thrilled to announce the successful conclusion of its talent hunt for the Junior Champs U13 football team on a positive note. What started on a slow note over the last 12 months quickly dovetailed into an extensive exercise, producing a good result.

The scouting team visited 16 Centres in Enugu state, 2 Centres in Anambra state, 2 Centres in Abia state, 1 Centre in Delta state and 1 Centre in Imo state.

Following the conclusion of the zonal scouting exercise in those 22 centres, over 70 shortlisted talents were invited for a residential tryout in Enugu from 25-30 August 2024.

The exercise ended today, 29 August, when the head coach had seen enough to produce his list of the chosen ones.

“It was tough for me to narrow the number of finalists to 30 as initially planned, because the talent quality is high, so I was able to select 34 players,” says Jude Agada, the football manger of Champs City. “At their very young age, I am excited about their quality and the potential they hold, let’s see, we will work hard to develop them to become world class footballers,” Jude added.
