Champs City Sports and Entertainment Ltd. and Champs City International Football Club Limited hereinafter known collectively as Champs City are incorporated in Nigeria. Champs City are committed to protecting and respecting your privacy. This document (the “Privacy Policy”) explains our policy regarding any information you might supply to us when you visit our website at www.champscity.ng (the “Website”) or that you provide to Champs City via another route. Our goal is to protect your information.
The purpose of this Privacy Notice is to help you understand our privacy practices when you use our Services, including what information and personal data we collect, why we collect it, and what we do with it, as well as your individual rights. This Privacy Notice applies to personal data collected or processed by CHAMP CITY which is controlled by or under control of CHAMPS CITY or any of its affiliates or subsidiaries (” CHAMPS CITY”, “our”, “we” or “us”).
Any personal data collected by Champs City are collected and processed in accordance with specific, legitimate and lawful purpose consented to by you; provided however that further processing may be done only for archiving, scientific research, historical research or statistical purposes for public interest; and any person or entity carrying out or purporting to carry out such data processing shall not transfer any personal data to any person. Champs City owes a duty of care to you in respect of your personal data and will be accountable for any acts and omissions in respect of data processing, and in accordance with the principles contained in the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA 2023)
Users can voluntarily decide whether or not to provide their consent for the use of their personal data. Data supplied will be included in a file that is the responsibility of Champs City, which is used to keep users informed, to offer them products and/or services both of Champs City and of other organizations that collaborate with the Club to make offers and/or send communications to users for commercial or promotional purposes in relation to products or services that could be of interest to them.
The user reserves the right to access, cancel, rectify or oppose to sharing any of their details to third parties, and reserves the right to be told how many times these details may have been supplied to others. If at any time the user wishes us to stop using his/her personal information for any or all of the aforementioned purposes, the user should let us know by sending an e-mail to legal@champscity.ng. We will cease the use of your information for such purposes as soon as it is reasonably possible to do so.
Champs City possesses the technical knowledge and means required for the processing of computer databases and the provision of certain services and possesses and employs the security measures required for proper data protection and security in accordance with the regulations established by Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023. (NDPA 2023).

This Website contains links to other websites, which are provided for your convenience. We are only responsible for the privacy practices and security of this Website. We recommend that you check the privacy and security policies and procedures of each and every other website that you visit.
The ‘Data Controller’ of any personal information that you provide to us through our Website will be Champs City unless the relevant page specifically states otherwise. Where you provide personal information via another route to Champs City, the Data Controller of such information will be the company to which you provided it.
When you engage in certain activities on the Website or engage with Champs City through another route, for example, by registering on the Website or as a Champs City member, purchasing goods and services or entering competitions, we may ask you to provide certain information about yourself by filling out and submitting a form. It is completely up to you whether you engage in these activities. If you choose to engage in these activities, we may require you to provide us with your Information. In some instances, you may also be asked to provide a credit or debit card number.
We may supplement the Information that you provide with other information that we obtain from our dealings with you or which we receive from other organisations, for example, our commercial partners.

WHAT ARE COOKIES

WHAT TYPE OF COOKIES WE USE

CONSENT
Before collecting any sensitive data, we will inform you and ask your explicit consent in accordance with existing data protection laws. On those occasions where you do provide and consent to our use of your personal information, we will only collect (username, IP address and location) and use that personal information in order to respond to inquiries submitted by you, create and improve our products or services. Location information is only collected when the user agrees to share location details with the website. If permission is not given, the report is submitted without location details.
By using the Website, or by engaging with Champs City via another route, and indicating your consent to us collecting and using your information in accordance with the terms of this Privacy Policy, you understand and agree that we and our associated companies may record, transfer, store, and process your information in any of the countries in which we and our subsidiaries or affiliates maintain offices.
SECURITY
We take the security of your Information seriously.
We implement a number of security measures to ensure the safety of any Information in our possession or control. The information is domiciled in a secure server to which Champs City is a subscriber. When you submit your credit card details, we use industry standard Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption technology to guard your Information. In addition, we have security procedures in place to protect our customer database from loss and misuse, and only allow access to it when absolutely necessary, and then under strict guidelines as to what use may be made of the information contained within it.
HOW WILL WE USE YOUR INFORMATION?
We collect your Information to record and support your participation in the activities you select.
We may use Information:
- as part of our effort to keep you informed via mail, email, phone or fax about special offers, and other products and services we offer;
- for record keeping purposes;

CROSS-BORDER TRANSFER
Your personal data may be stored and processed in any country where we have facilities or in which we engage service providers, and by using the Services you acknowledge the transfer (if any) of information to countries outside of your country of residence, which may have data protection rules that are different from those of your country. In certain circumstances, courts, law enforcement agencies, regulatory agencies or security authorities in those other countries may be entitled to access your personal data.
We shall ensure that the countries where we have facilities or in which we engage service providers shall have adequate data protection laws, corporate security policies, procedures and standards to adequately protect your personal data as prescribed by the NDPA 2023 or the appropriate Data Protection Authority. If you are located in Nigeria, the storage and processing of your personal data outside Nigeria in our facilities or by service providers we engage shall at all times be in accordance with the relevant provisions of the NDPA 2023.
HOW LONG DO WE KEEP YOUR DATA?
We will retain your personal data for as long as needed or permitted in light of the purpose(s) for which the data is collected. The criteria we use to determine our retention periods include: (i) the length of time you use the App and Services; (ii) whether there is a legal obligation to which we are subject; or (iii) whether retention is advisable in light of our legal position (such as in regard to applicable statutes of limitations, litigation or regulatory investigations).
POLICY FOR CHILDREN
We realise and understand that many children will visit the Website, or interact with Champs City via another route, but encourage all persons under 15 to consult with their parents or legal guardian before submitting any content or information to Champs City. Parents or legal guardians should, in particular, supervise children when online and recommend that parental control tools be put in place. Although anyone known to be under the age of 15 may participate in competitions and promotions, notification of a win or prize will be sent directly to the parent or legal guardian identified in the initial registration process. Any publication of a competition winner’s personal details for visitors known to be under 18 will require parental or legal guardian consent during registration.

Our Services may change from time to time without prior notice to you. For this reason, we reserve the right to amend or update this Privacy Notice from time to time. When we update this Privacy Notice, we will also update the date at the top of this Privacy Notice. We encourage you to review regularly the latest version of this Privacy Notice. The new Privacy Notice will become effective immediately upon publication. If you do not agree to the revised notice, you should alter your preferences, or consider stop using our Services. By continuing to access or make use of our Services after those changes become effective, you acknowledge that you have been informed and agree to the Privacy Notice as amended.
UPDATING AND CORRECTING INFORMATION
You may correct the Information we hold about you by changing your profile preferences online or by contacting legal@champscity.ng. Please include your name, address, and/or email address when you contact us. We would encourage you to update your personal information promptly if it changes.
RIGHTS TO YOUR DATA
You can submit a request to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to the processing of personal data that you have previously provided to us, or you can submit a request to receive an electronic copy of your personal data for purposes of transmitting it to another company (to the extent that this right to data portability is provided to you by applicable law), you may contact us through legal@champscity.ng We will respond to your request as consistent with applicable law.
Where we are unable to or do not take any action on the request you will be informed without delay and at the latest within one month of the receipt of the request, of the reasons for not taking action and on the possibility of lodging a complaint with a supervisory authority in accordance with the NDPA 2023
In your request, please make clear what personal data you would like to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to its processing. For your protection, we may only implement requests with respect to the personal data associated with your account, your email address or other account information, that you use to send us your request, and we may need to verify your identity before implementing your request. We will try to comply with your request as soon as reasonably practicable.
REPORTING INCIDENTS
In the event of a privacy breach, Champs City shall report such breach to the relevant authority and where deemed necessary by the relevant authority, affected individuals of personal data breach (where the personal data breach will likely result in high risks to the freedoms and rights of the data subject) will be informed within reasonable time of being aware of the breach.
Champs City shall take steps to investigate and recover personal data and will also ensure that controls are enhanced to prevent a re-occurrence of the breach.
YOUR RIGHTS AND REMEDIES IN THE EVENT OF VIOLATION OF THIS PRIVACY POLICY
You have a right to among other remedies lodge a complaint before an appropriate authority for any breach of your rights. Please notify us in the event of any of the following:
- If you believe Champs City’s website and/or the Services have been compromised.
- If you have been contacted by someone via email, telephone or short Message Service about the App and your account asking for a password, birth date or other personal information.
- If you believe your Personal Information has been used for fraudulent activity.
- If you have any other enquiry relating to information privacy and security.
