Champs City Academy also known as Junior Champs is our breeding ground for champions and elite athletes. We have designed a training system that helps us discover and nurture exceptional talents.

Junior Champs Pillars of Success
In consonance with the broader vision of Champs City, the Academy being its nursery bed is built on four pillars:
- Exceptional talent recruitment and development: Within the next 5 years focus on building the most effective and efficient talent recruitment and development system with reach across Nigeria and Africa.
- Quality Education: Ensure through its flagship Corporate Social Investment programme – MyFootballMyEducation-that all Junior Champs have access to quality secondary educated on scholarship.
- Enduring Partnerships: Invest in building and growing local and global partnerships with clubs, industry, and community of fans/supporters across the world while robustly engaging and impacting its local communities.
- Sporting Success: Play attractive football, dominate the youth football tournaments we participate in and ensure that Junior Champs participate in international tournaments representing both the Academy and their respective countries.
Junior Champs ‘SPORTS’ Philosophy
Champs City FC have a playing philosophy that favours an attacking and attractive brand of football. We call it Cat-Attack-Football. It is an outwit-your-opponent-in-all-situations approach to the game. It is a style that believes in winning as a result of creative strategy and tactics before, during and after the game. It references the hunting approach and the winning mentality of the big cat family (lion, leopard, tiger, etc.) that had made them an enduring kingly family of the animal kingdom.
Our playing philosophy finds its definition in the acronym – SPORTS – and it’s explained as follows.
Skill
The depth of technical ability required to remain a winning team is quite high. We place so much emphasis on the technical ability of our team. We like to be skillfully swift in our attacking, offensive play.
Precision
To be a dreaded team every member of the team is expected to man their areas of responsibility with the highest degree of precision. The difference between a winning team and a losing one is often in the former’s consistency in making even their slimmest chance count at the slightest opportunity.
Organisation
A winning team almost always remains highly committed to a system. The ability to maintain a high sense of organisation requires a lot of practice and discipline. Organisation is a recipe for continuous successful execution.
Resilience
Under a difficult situation, a great team requires an exceptional ability to bounce back and continually reinvent itself. It is a mentality we imbibe with a lot of conviction.
Team Play
Football is a team sport, and we never tolerate the promotion of individuality over team play. “Together is stronger” is not just a cliché but a belief we hold dear to our hearts.
